Jessica writes fiction, poetry and journalism.

She is interested in the use of experimental writing to open up spaces. She is currently thinking about the ways in which a radical re-imagining of language and form can aid the deconstruction of hierarchies and binaries.

Her debut novel Saltwater explores mother-daughter relationships and identity in relation to place, social class and the body. It will be published by Sceptre (UK) and FSG (US) in Spring 2019 and translated in Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Greece.

She co-runs and edits online literary and arts magazine The Grapevine

Her work has been published by The Independent, Somesuch StoriesAnOther, Caught by the River, Shabby Doll HousePapaya Press, HYSTERIA,The Contemporary ICA zineand Poor Lass zine among others.

She runs Literature and Creative Writing classes for adults, young people and children.
